Geoffrey Chaucer was an amazing character in history mostly because he was Englands first great writer, who showed that English could be a respectable spoken language. Chaucer was born between 1340 and 1343 probrably in the city of London, England in the era of which expanding commerce was helping to bring the middle ages to a close. Chaucers family, though not noble made their living in the wine and leather trades Geoffreys last name derives from the french word for shoemaker.when Chaucer was a teenager he enlisted in the kings army in which he fought against the french in what we now call " Hundred years" war. Chaucer was captured by the french during the siege of Rheims and the king himself contributed to his ransom. later on in his life, Chaucer served as a royal messenger and he was given more important diplomatic missions for many years to come. his royal contacts also led to his marriage to Philippa, a lady in waiting to be queen. Chaucers many travels to the European mainland exposed him to the latest in French and Italian literaterary works that would simulate his own writing. A prime example of this is how Chaucer discovered the works of Dante, Petrarch, and Boccaccio.

As you all know my Name is Jonathan Blum
In my car I like to zoom into the path of doom
when I drive on the highway on the way to the beach
I always hear my tires screech
When i drive my gas pedal is on the floor
And my feeling of boredom is no more
As I continue to discover new road trips to take
My attendance at school is at stake
I always try to find new records to break
so i can prove i can take the winners cake
I think i should be in Nascar
So i can prove that i can race a fast car
Although i should go to learnhe rubber from
Id rather smell the rubber from my wheels burn
when me and my friends ride together
we can drive forever
you can all say im crazy
but i cant stand staying home and being lazy
but i know at the end of the day i say
i have to go to school tommorow i guess life cant always go my way.
